Domaine de la Bolliattaz is a small but high-class producer of wines from, among others, Chasselas, Malbec/Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. Organically certified by Bio Suisse and Demeter. The management of the Henri Contesse domaine, the harvesting of its grapes and the sale of the wines are managed by Hammel Terres de Vins in Rolle. In total, the domain covers just over 3 ha on southern slopes high above Lake Geneva. Hammel SA is a family business from Rolle, a couple of miles north of Geneva. Specializing in wines from Switzerland and in particular Geneva, Vaud and Valais. Hammel is the next largest distributor of wine within Switzerland's borders. Hammel SA (Terres de Vins) under the leadership of the charismatic and passionate wine expert Charles Rolaz (below) administers and looks after about 10 domains in the Vaud and Valais regions, all of which produce high quality wines. Above all, Hammel are skilled at harvesting, vinifying and bottling large quantities of wine bottles in their advanced and large production facility on the edge of Lake Geneva. The cellar is filled with French oak barrels and steel tanks from floor to ceiling in what must be at least 5000 sq meters. Domaine de la Bolliattaz is one of Hammel’s main brands, along with, for example, Clos de la George and Chatelard. Bolliattaz stands out a bit as they are certified by both Bio Suisse and Demeter for all their production.
