Jeff Cohn Cellars is a small boutique winery located in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, where they produce 5,000 cases annually. They have been producing single vineyard Zinfandel and Rhône varietal wines for over 25 years. Jeff’s love of Zinfandel has continued with him since his days as head winemaker at Rosenblum Cellars, but his real passion continues to be the Rhône varietals. His winemaking technique is hands on, small lot fermentations to gently extract the flavors and colors from the fruit. He uses primarily large format French oak barrels and concrete tanks in their wine production. Collaborations with Yves Gangloff and Yves Cuilleron of the Northern Rhône, France continue to fuel Jeff’s desire for making French inspired wines. Working with these amazing winemakers, he has had the chance to hone in on new techniques resulting in wines that walk a tightrope between beautiful French sophistication and bold California fruit. They source fruit primarily from Sonoma County looking for the rockiest, steepest and oldest vineyards they can. Jeff’s winemaking style has evolved over the years, but there are three core concepts that he follows year after year. Make the best wine possible from the highest quality fruit, the vineyards that showcase the terroir and unique character that sets our wines apart.
