Tin Barn Vineyards celebrates those hidden treasures that lie off the map. Our wines highlight the true character of the earth and air from sun drenched Napa Valley to wild, coastal Sonoma County. High atop the ridges of the Sonoma Coast, just off Tin Barn Road, lays a tiny plot of Syrah vines. It is from this remote, fog enshrouded slope that we sourced grapes for our very first wine and derived inspiration for our name. In 1993, Michael Lancaster ventured from his native Ontario to Northern California, driven by a passion for winemaking. After studying viticulture and enology at the University of California at Davis, he worked with such renowned labels as Gloria Ferrer. In 2000, he cofounded Tin Barn Vineyards, where he became known for exceptional tenacity and winemaking standards.
